About Me |
|
I've always had a passion for tinkering with code. Most people see the published version of a site and rarely give a second thought to the behind-the-scenes elements. I, however, enjoy finding out how
and why something works. I taught myself how to code by tinkering with the source code of a gaming blog (archived version)
I used to frequent. The owner had built it from scratch more than five years prior and the code was cluttered -- this made my initial learning process much more interactive compared to the usual 'Hello World!'
program. In the end I learned how to create real world programs in Java. But more importantly, I discovered I have a passion for learning how to code and create programs and applications to help people.

Outside of coding I also enjoy: playing video games such as
League of Legends and Diablo III; card games -- namely
euchre; reading fantasy and mystery novels (currently on book one of the A Song of Ice and Fire series); and playing tennis. Some of my favorite websites have been discovered via reddit's
/r/InternetIsBeautiful/ has led me to sites such as
anasomnia, drawminos, a
galaxy visualizer, and
a stream visualizer. Both of visualizers are pure JavaScript and perfect examples of what's
possible with an idea and the passion to design something.
